Master’s Program in Finance

The objection of the fellowships/scholarships provided is to encourage undergraduate/graduate/evening and weekend MS program students at the Department of Finance and International Business, to enhance academic research, and to increase job employment after graduation.          

The following scholarships aim at current students in MS program in Finance or evening and weekend MS program in Finance, not including students delaying graduation. Details are shown below.

  1. Prize fellowships: newly enrolled students with excellent entrance exam grades and current students with great scholastic attainment in the former semester are eligible for prize fellowships.
  2. Grants for international professional certificates: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
  3. Fee subsidies: current students who register for the exams listed above would get registration fee subsidies.For CFA, registration for the exam in Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 three each time conforms to the principle of fee subsidy. For CFP, the registration for Domain 1-5 is considered one time and it counts another one in Domain 6, so the registration fee subsidy for CFP accounts for twice in total. For FRM is only once. Scholarships as encouragement for students who get CFA, CFP, or FRM certificate during their school years. CFA in Level 1: 6,000 NT; CFA in Level 2: 10,000 NT; CFA in Level 3: 20,000 NT. As for CFP, passing the former five domains the scholarship is 6,000 NT. Students who get the certificate of FRM can receive 6,000 NT.
  4. English language proficiency test: current students who score above 860 in TOEIC listening and reading test can get 1,500 NT; scores above 950 can get 3,000 NT. The recognition to other English proficiency tests depends on department regulations.

  5. Prize for best presenter in thesis convention: 3 best presenters chosen in the thesis convention for all graduate students in the second year to present their thesis proposals will get 2,000 NT each as prize. The criterion for deciding best presenters are their composure, manner of speaking, the content of the ppt. file, etc. Based on all the graduate students' voting, the top 3 topics with attractions to all the students are the prize winners.
